Chuck Bartels:

Resident bass guru, Chuck Bartels started playing bass when he was 14 years old. He was home sick one day from school and realized that you read it’s music in the same range as the
trombone. He hasn’t looked back to the trombone since.

His collegiate music career began at Mott Community College in Flint and ended at Wayne State University in Detroit. He has played with many great musicians such as: Bobby Shue, Bunky Gr
een, Louis Smith, Robert Lowe, Alex Brooks, Gerard Gibbs, Thornetta Davis, Liz Larin, The Coasters, The miracles, the Platters, Peggy Lee, The Contours, Jill Jack, Barb Payton, The Brothers Groove, Brett Lucas, Jason Gittinger, Boogie Dynomite and many many more.

For the last 5 years he has played with Grammy nominated artist Bettye Lavette. They have played on The Conan Obrien show, Jay Leno, David Letterman, Austin City Limits, Prairie Home Companion, the Montreaux Jazz Fest in Switzerland, and countless other concerts all over the world.  

 

He lives in Warren with his wife Charlene and their new son.
