Kris Kurzawa:
Kris Kurzawa is one of the most sought after guitarists in metro Detroit. At 300 gigs a year, a wife and young son, and teaching at The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music Kris is definitely busy!

 

His studies include Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Jazz Studies from Wayne State University in Detroit. He has played with notable artists such as: Larry Carlton, Bob James, David Sanborn, Liz Larin, Thornetta Davis, Jill Jack, Alexander Zonjic, Sean Blackman, Wayne Gerard, John Arnold, Barbara Payton and many others. He writes and performs weekly with Zap Toro, Skeeto’s Funhouse, Trio Organic and The Kris Kurzawa Trio. He’s been nominated for 11 Detroit Music awards and was awarded Outstanding World/Reggae/Ska Songwriter award in 2011 (For Zap Toro).

 

Although his credits and experience are vast, he credits his “ability to make a living playing guitar in more environments, styles, situations, with more musicians then I can remember” as his greatest music accomplishment.
Kris lives in Clawson with his wife Mia and their new son.

Brian Lord:
Brian Lord has been with The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music since the beginning. A lifelong musician, Brian has been involved in many scenes in Detroit.
Brian attended Wayne State University, participating in the Jazz department. He has toured and played with Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, Fifty Amp Fuse, Hunter Brooks, Alyssa Simmons, Barrett Strong, Tangerine Moon Productions, and many many more. He also produces records, creates music for advertising campaigns and has a project called The Flutter and Wow with his talented wife Tasha.

Brian lives in Livonia with his wife and two dogs.

 

 

Steve Kendzorski:
Steve joined the DSRP in 2008 and quickly became one of the most sought after guitar instructors and rehearsal directors in the school. He comes from a very musical family. Steve and his brother have played in many bands together over the years. He enjoys creative projects and if he’s not at the school teaching or at a show, you can find him and his friends creating projects in their studio at the Russell Industrial Center. Around town you can see Steve playing drums with his feet and bass with his hands in the critically acclaimed duo, Illymack.
Steve lives in Madison Heights.
