Julie Spicer:

Julie has been on the staff of the DSRP since it opened. Well versed in many aspects of putting music together, she teaches keyboards, vocals and runs the Kidz Rock Program.
She received a Bachelors in Fine Arts from Wayne State University but has learned most of what she knows from being a professional musician. She has taught classical piano for many years and is a member of The American College of Musicians/Sponsor for The National Guild of Piano Playing Auditions (18 yrs). She has been Musical Director for musicals at Macomb Community College and Winking Owl Productions and accompanied many students at their school Solo and Ensemble contests. She has played in pit orchestras for musicals and sang in choirs for many years.
Her rock and pop experiences include being a member of The Square PegzThe Rick Nease Band and The Party. Music has given her the opportunity to play venues such as Mackinaw Island, Put-In-Bay, Nashville, Fort Myers Beach, Royal Oak Music Theatre, The Magic Bag, Sterling Fest, MGM Grand, The Whitney, Motor City Casino, The Renaissance Center,  and many weddings, corporate events, local restaurants, and large festivals.
Julie lives in Berkley, Michigan with her husband.

Ron Abraham:

Keyboardist and vocalist Ron Abraham has a long history of performance in the Detroit area.  While most recently known as member the popular Mega 80s, and as a founding member of the rock band Room 13, Ron has a diverse background as writer and producer for many Detroit artists.

Though primarily a keyboardist, Ron began playing at age 6 as a drummer, and has also studied voice, guitar and concert percussion.  He was a music theory major at the University of Michigan, and studied acting at Oakland University.

In 2012 Ron formed Vendetta Media, a company to combine and focus his producing, writing, advertising, graphic art, and business experience.

Ron has taught piano and voice at The Detroit School of Rock and Pop for a number of years, taking great satisfaction in helping people learn in an amazing, creative environment.

Ron lives in Rochester Hills with his wife Kate.

Chris Codish:

Keyboard specialist and Blues Circle director Chris Codish has steadily made himself a vital part of the Detroit musical community and The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music. A perennial winner at the Detroit Music Awards over the past fourteen years, he has received multiple honors for his vocal and songwriting skills as well as his keyboard mastery. He was won over 40 Detroit Music Awards. He formed the multi award winning funk/jazz/jam band The Brothers Groove, produced the last two albums for the late, great Detroit bluesman Johnnie Bassett on Sly Dog Records (Mack Ave. Records), and toured globally with Hiram Bullock, Harvey Mason, Alexander Zonjic, Larry McCray and Lucky Peterson. He’s performed and/or recorded with Roy Ayers, Ronnie Laws, Jim “Moose” Brown, Sponge, The Motor City Horns, The Dead String Brothers, Kenny Tudrick, Kem, Dave McMurray, Thornetta Davis, Kenny G, Bob James, Jeff Lorber, and countless others.

When not on tour, Chris performs on piano, organ and keyboard throughout the Metro Detroit area at festivals, private events, and clubs including the Detroit Jazz Festival, Cliff Bell’s, The Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe, and The London Chop House, as well as at God Land Unity Church in Detroit every Sunday morning.

Chris had gained a significant amount of professional experience from which to draw on with the students. His attention to detail, mastery of his instruments, and unending passion for learning and growing make him a welcome addition to the Keyboard staff and Blues program.

Chris is a lifetime Detroiter. He lives on the east side with his expanding young family.
