Jazz Academy partners with the Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music for performance
The Jazz Arts Group’s (JAG) Jazz Academy is proud to present the Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music in a Columbus outreach performance for Add Ohio on Wednesday, August 24 as part of their “Summer Rocks!” summer music camp and tour.
The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music campers spent this summer with some of the best music professionals in metro Detroit learning topics such as songwriting, recording, rock and pop history, and everything in between. The “Summer Rocks!” day camp stresses team building, the development of confidence, the ability to create win-win situations in life, and the importance of making the right choices. The culmination of camp is a mini-tour of concerts, this year in Ohio, Memphis and Nashville.
Jason Gittinger, co-founder of the Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music and former member of JAG’s Columbus Youth Jazz Studio Ensemble, included Columbus and Add Ohio in their tour because “playing for people that want or need a brighter day is far more rewarding, and I want to foster that in our kids.”
The performance will take place at 6:00 p.m. at the Add Ohio’s Addvantage Center at 350 E. Wilson Bridge Rd. in Worthington.
